Don’t worry. You read that title correctly.
Books are turned into movies. TV shows become movies. Poems become songs. “Vines” are turned into a book. ?
We’ve all heard of comics being turned into TV shows such as Riverdale, The Flash, The Walking Dead, and so many more. However, some fans of different TV shows have taken it upon themselves to turn TV shows into comics! Now, I haven’t seen anything like all ten seasons of Friends transformed into a comic book, but I have seen bits and pieces!
We’ve all heard of “fan fiction” that fans write about their favorite characters, actors, celebrities, etc. This new creation of TV show comics seems to be another form of “fan fiction.” Not all of the comics I have seen are direct depictions from a specific episode of a TV show. However, as seen in these comics, peoples’ creative nature has reached an all new level.

Grey’s Anatomy
As you can see, some are accurate to the TV show itself, and some are parodies of the show’s content. In Grey’s Anatomy, there are two doctors, Dr. Derek Shepherd and Dr. Mark Sloan. Dr. Shepherd gets the nickname “Dr. McDreamy.” Dr. Mark Sloan gets the nickname “Dr. McSteamy.” In the above comic, the creator decided to give almost every character a line that closely relates to their personality, but they ad the prefix “Mc” to everything, as a joke.
I’m pretty sure you can find a comic strip for almost any TV show that you like.
Also, if you love the TV show Friends as much as I do, you should definitely check out numerous Friends comics on this website! These comics are true examples from the show, itself.
Creating comics from already-existing TV shows is a great way to express your love of a show. We’ve all also seen GIFs and memes, but comics are hard to come by. I think this would be a great future assignment. Find a scene in your favorite TV show and convert it to a comic in your own way! Make it a parody. Make it a cartoon in which you emphasize the characters’ features. Make it accurate. Make it fictional. Turn it into a graphic novel of your own!
